Spring has sprung, my sleepy yetis! Now is the seasons of new beginnings, fresh air, and chasing a fresh batch of hikers through the woods...

Hi sleepy yetis—Eddie here!
Spring is a great time for fresh starts, and that includes giving your CPAP a little extra care. If you’re new to CPAP, it’s completely normal to feel overwhelmed at first. A simple cleaning routine can go a long way toward better sleep and a better experience.

Why CPAP Cleaning Matters

You’re breathing air directly from your CPAP each night, so keeping it clean helps protect your health and keeps your equipment working properly.

Skipping regular cleaning can lead to:

  • Unpleasant smells
  • Wear and tear on your equipment
  • Mold, bacteria, or allergens
  • Increased risk of sinus or respiratory infections

Simple CPAP Cleaning Tips

  • Unplug your machine before cleaning.
  • Take apart removable parts like the mask and tubing.
  • Wipe the outside of the machine with a soft cloth, warm water, and mild dish soap.
  • Empty and air‑dry the humidifier daily.

When to Replace CPAP Parts

For best performance, replace:

  • Filters: Monthly
  • Mask: Every 6 months
  • Tubing: Every 6 months
  • Water chamber: Every 6 months

Eddie’s Extra Tips

  • Clean more often if you’re sick.
  • Replace any parts that look cracked, discoloured, or worn.
  • Avoid bleach, alcohol, or scented oils.
  • Use distilled water only in your humidifier to prevent mineral buildup.

A little spring cleaning can help your CPAP work better—and help you sleep better too.

Sleep well,
Eddie the Yeti 💤
